  2. Serve the suspension

You must serve the suspension period before you can reinstate. During some suspensions, such as a points suspension or a first drug suspension, you may qualify for a modified license with restricted driving. You apply for it at a Service Oklahoma licensing office. [3][4]

  3. Show proof of insurance, not an SR-22

Oklahoma doesn't accept an insurer's SR-22-type certificate. Proof is the standard insurance card (security verification form), a deposit, or self-insurance. To reinstate after a no-insurance suspension, you show an owner's or operator's policy. [2]

  4. Pay the reinstatement and processing fees

One $25 reinstatement fee covers your suspensions, plus a processing fee for each suspension, which is $25 in most cases. DUI, implied-consent, and no-insurance suspensions cost $75 each plus a $200 trauma-care assessment. For a points suspension, Service Oklahoma says you or someone representing you can usually pay by mail or in person. [1][3]

  5. Ask about a provisional license, if you can't pay all your fees

If you've served the suspension, paid court costs and fines, and have insurance in your name, a provisional license lets you drive to work, school, worship, childcare, or court-ordered treatment. You pay at least $5 a month toward your fees, starting with a first payment by money order in person. A Service Oklahoma hearing officer must approve it. [5]

After a DUI arrest

  1. Complete IDAP, and enroll early

For DUI arrests on or after November 1, 2022, you must complete the Impaired Driver Accountability Program (IDAP) before reinstating. For a first-time DUI arrest starting November 1, 2024, Service Oklahoma says the arrest won't appear on your driving record if you held a valid license, enroll in IDAP within 30 days of your arrest, complete it, and reinstate. Enrolling can get eligible drivers Class D driving privileges. [3][6]

  2. Install an ignition interlock

IDAP requires an ignition interlock unless you have a medical exemption. The enrollment fee is $150, and device fees are separate. You need at least 180 active interlock days for a first offense, 365 for a second, and 730 for a third, with the last 90 days violation-free. [6]

  3. Expect higher fees

DUI and implied-consent suspensions carry a $75 processing fee and a $200 trauma-care assessment each, on top of the $25 reinstatement fee. [1]
