Your numbers are saved in this browser on this device, so they'll be here when you come back. They aren't sent to us.

Every answer comes from our verified data for that state; the state's page lists the official source for each one. "Not confirmed" means we haven't verified it from an official source yet.

Questions people ask

Does every state use the SR-22?

No. 12 of the 51 jurisdictions we cover (the 50 states and DC) don't use the SR-22 form; some of them use their own insurer certificate instead. See states without SR-22.

Who decides whether I need one?

Your state does, under its own law, and its notice to you is the final word on what you must file and for how long. The checker shows what each state's official sources say. If your notice says something different, follow the notice and ask the agency that sent it.

Is this legal advice?

No. It's a summary of each state's official rules, checked against the sources listed on the state's page. Rules change and your case may differ; confirm with your state's driver licensing agency or a lawyer.
